New Gage at Neal Bridge

A new measuring station has been established at Neal Bridge.  The US Geological Survey and Bureau of Reclamation installed the gage and it has been reporting river flows since May 2011.

Neal Bridge is the location where SFB canyon floaters take out after a 21-mile river float from the Danskin Bridge put-in.

Some floaters may have seen the gage as shown in the photo at left.  The equipment monitors flow and temperature throughout the year and also houses the telemetry equipment for bull trout research.  The data will be used to help determine the most appropriate ramping rates from Anderson Ranch.

Since May 2011 the USGS has been reporting data from this gage and posting it as part of the real-time network of gages across Idaho.   The Neal Bridge gage page can be accessed here.
